Immunization Recommendations:

Minimum requirements: recommended for the pleasure horse that doesn't travel and has limited, to no exposure to other horses

• West Nile Encephalitis

• Eastern and Western Encephalitis

• Tetanus

• Rabies

• Potomac Horse Fever (Fall Booster also required)

Typical Protocol: for horses that show and are exposed to other horses occasionally

• Influenza (Fall Booster also required)

• Rhinopneumonitis (Fall Booster also required)

Extended Protection: recommended for horses showing intensely especially 1-6 year old category

• Strangles intranasal (Fall Booster also optional)

• Potomac Horse Fever (Fall Booster also required)

• Influenza (Fall Booster also required)

Pre-Foaling Immunizations: Recommended 1 month prior to due date to boost the immunity that the foal receives in the first milk, or colostrum. This immunity will serve to protect the foal for the first 6-9 months of its life.
